At the foot of the Zagros Mountains, in central Tran, lies a city over 2,500 years old, with a turbulent, yet glorious past: Isfahan. Iranians still use the 16th century saying that it is “half the world”. The height of Isfahan’s glory was during the reign of Shah Abbas (1598 AD) when as the Capital, it housed magnificent palaces, mosques, avenues, and bridges.
