Travel to Iran with an Airport/Consulate Visa

If you are from one of the following countries, you need a visa to travel to Iran.

You can get your visa upon arrival at some airports across the country or collect it at the Iran embassy in your country or any other country that you prefer.

An airport visa is obtainable at the following airports in Iran.

Visa Application Process

Iran Visa Requirements:

  1. Image of the first page of your passport (according to the size in the sample below) that is valid for at least 6 months.
  2. A colorful photo of your face (according to the size in the sample below).
  3. Filled-in application form (Downloadable at the bottom of this page).

Procedure:

  • Submitting the visa application to MFA: New Horizon submits your visa application at the MFA Portal and provides the other supported documents such as hotel reservations and itineraries.
  • Reviewing the application by MFA: It takes about 7-10 working days for MFA to review your application and get the approval code.

The review time for UK, US, and Canadian passport holders is longer almost 1 month.

  • Getting Visa Approval Code: A visa authorization/reference/approval code is issued for the visa applicant to collect their visa. New Horizon receives the code.
  • Obtaining the visa at the airport or consulate. 

*** Notes:

  1. Thursdays and Fridays are weekends in Iran and are not the working days.
  2. The visa approval code for a consulate visa is valid for 2 months to collect the visa.
  3. The visa approval code for an airport visa is valid for 3 months to collect the visa.
  4. After obtaining your visa, you can stay up to 45 days and extend it to 90 days under the MFA rules.
